Ascent Features

This easy to use feature is also a powerful way to:

  • Keep students engaged in their online course
  • Ensure students are comprehending the subject matter
  • Reduce your liability

Review Questions are a single questions which can be inserted anywhere in a course.

Typically, you put in a Review Question about every 5 or 10 pages, or after any important learning point.

The student can not get past the question until they answer it correctly.

Each time the question loads, the multiple choice answers are randomly shuffled.

When they select a wrong answer, feedback is provided so the learn from incorrect guesses too.

When they finally get it right, they can move ahead to the next page.

Hotspot question format

Question Formats

Like all content in AVANTI, the Review Questions themselves are like web pages – they can be as big or small as you like and can contain anything you can put on a web page.

You can have a question like "What is the person doing wrong in this video?", or "Use this chart to calculate the maximum load weight".

Questions can also be Graphical HotSpot format. This is where you ask a question like "Where is the PFD? Point and click on your answer"

You can have an unlimited number of possible answers and provide a feedback/hint message for each answer.

Question Bank

You can add your Review Questions to your Question Bank, and assign them key words. When making new Review Questions, quizzes, or exams; you can search for questions on a particular subject and pop them in with a couple clicks.

Tracked and Documented

You will find in the Records that each Review Question was tracked. You can see how many tries it too someone to get the question right (for every question) and also the average number it takes your students to get it correct.

Reducing Liability

Not only do you have proof that someone answered the review questions correctly (they can't finish the course without it), but you can also use Review Questions as a kind of waiver. For example:

Q: Do you fully understand and agree to adhere to the company’s Safety Standards checklist?

    • No. (Wrong Answer. Feedback: "Please exit this course and contact your supervisor")
    • Yes. (Correct Answer. Feedback: "You may now proceed to the next page.")
    • I don't fully understand. (Wrong Answer. Feedback: "Please exit this course and contact your supervisor")

You can see that unless they select "Yes", they can not continue into the course.
